March 26, 1921

The characters arrive at the pyramid and begin to investigate.  A large hole filled with dead bodies is found as well as an air shaft.  The characters descend the airshaft.

They discover a tunnel that connects to yet another tunnel.  This second tunnel has a strip of gold, matching the piece referred to as “The Golden Ward”.  During the exploration they encounter a few small Kharasiri larvae.  The spot where the Golden Ward was removed is discovered - it damaged the pyramid and a large hole in the tunnel floor was formed…filled with an oozing fat-like substance.  This they burn off and replace the Golden Ward, tapping it back in place, thus sealing the pyramid prison.

While leaving they encounter both de Mendoza and Augustus Larkin.  De Mendoza attempted to do battle but he was disintegrating rapidly.  Larkin was shot by just about everyone and died on the spot.

While leaving they encountered many dust piles on the trail (these were dead Kharasiri).

The characters successfully completed the Prelude and improved their skills and sanity.

The next chapter will take place 5 years in the future.
